Yael Stone, who was born in Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013 in the film, played Lorna Mello as the prisoner In Orange Is the New Black. Yael was awarded her NIDA degree. Yael was fortunate to be able to collaborate with Australia's leading storytellers. Her experience includes behind-the-scenes work in film, television and the theatre. Yael is a renowned actor in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael relocated from Australia to New York City after the Brooklyn Academy of the Music's production of the play had a huge success. Yael co-founded The Cannery. The Cannery encourages innovative ideas in writing and also creative projects through its Bushwick studio.
